As a recent graduate of the MSc Psychology, Theory and Research at KU Leuven, I have joined the Neuropsychology Lab Leuven as a research assistant to further extend my research skills. My interest in neuropsychology was sparked during my research internship at the Translational Neuropsychology Lab at the University of Oxford. During this internship, I specialized in working with neuroimaging and neuropsychological data, particularly in stroke patients. I realized my main interest lies in applying quantitative research skills to clinical populations, specifically patients with acquired brain damage.
I am particularly driven by the goal of bridging the gap between research and clinical practice, with the ultimate aim of improving patient care through innovative research. In my current role as research assistant at the Neuropsychology Lab Leuven, I’ll be working on several projects centered on neuroimaging of patients with acquired brain injury. This includes fMRI studies aimed at exploring sensory sensitivity in patients and understanding its effects and neural underpinnings.
